Fire It Up: A Restaurant Branding Book.

December 28, 2011

Fire It Up by Joseph SzalaNot too long ago while looking at restaurant marketing stuff online, I came across an agency that blew my mind; an agency that specializes in restaurant branding and has a great time doing it. As you know, I have a special place in my heart for restaurants — hence the blog — and I recently landed my dream job of working at a restaurant corporate office, so when I find others with a passion for restaurant marketing and branding as I have, I must share it. The agency is Vigor. The man is Joseph Szala. And his book is amazing. Okay, I haven’t gotten far because I promised myself that I would finish one book before starting another, but at first (and second) glance, it reminds me of my favorite book, The Brand Gap by Marty Neumeier. Fire It Up is similar in that it is a “whiteboard overview,” as Neumeier calls it, of thoughts, ideas, strategies, etcetera; yet this is focused on building restaurant brands. From frequenting Vigor’s website and blog, I think it’s safe to say that Fire It Up is a must have for any start-up restaurateur all the way to a national chain’s Chief Marketing Officer. You definitely will hear more about this book as I dive into it.
